Volla Phone X23 comes in two platform options. The brand’s own Volla OS & Ubuntu Touch, you can easily switch between operating systems using the multi-boot function.
The issue I have with these alternatives is the compatible apps list is short. You may as well just flash your standard phone with LineageOS or GrapheneOS, atleast you can sideload some android apps on those where needed.
Any alt os tells me it doesn’t run android apps I just stop listening.
For some people apps from F-Droid are enough. If we would get at least half the app base as on F-Droid alternative OSes are going to be usable.
With systems like PostmarketOS we could have personal computer that fits in a hand and have radio communication. We are going there, there are more Linux apps every month. The biggest problem I think is more phones with more open hardware.

Ubuntu Touch can be as limiting as Android, with without app ecosystem. It is design without free root access in mind.
I would much rather see PostmarketOS as an option, but deGoogled-first phone is also awesome.
I need to specify that I only use brave when a website doesn’t work correctly with Firefox, but to this day in my phone I have only use it once.
Can anyone explain to me why anyone would want a dual OS? It seems rather odd to me… its like someone wanting 2 web browsers for different purposes.
i use 2 web browsers for 2 different purposes. One for college one for personal.
This is the way.
Firefox and what else?
Firefox and Firefox Nightly

I fell for the brave meme few years ago and I’m too lazy to move away from it.
I never understood the appeal. Don’t they replace ads on websites or something to that effect?
Brave claims to be so anti-data mining yet they share stuff with Google. Ok at least a couple years ago when I read about the tests done that showed this, as well as some articles on an affiliation they have with Google.
I haven’t used Brave since then. It’s Firefox for me only.
Since Google crippled AdBlock I’ve switched back to firefox. Funny to think about considering I’ve used Firefox when it was called firebird. I should probably donate to Mozilla at some point 🤔

You can disable the ads completely, or choose to get ads from brave to earn crypto. I did earn some good change for the time i kept them on, but its not really worth it.
You have 2 web browsers on your phone? Also why not just using a vpn?
The main reason is that i have 2 different sets of bookmarks. I know there is probably a smarter way to do it but opening a different browser is simple enough, and i got used to it. Also I’m lazy to switch between college and personal gmail account, easier to just open the browser for the specific purpose. And my tabs will remain open on the college browser so i can continue the work.
I don’t really use bookmarks on my phone, so there i just have one browser.
