It’s entirely possible to use, enjoy, and benefit from Linux while also using proprietary software. Your attitude only hurts the reputation and adoption of Linux by perpetuating the notion that you’re either all-in or else you’re out. Your idea of “Linux the lifestyle” is a fantasy.

AAVE is mostly a spoken thing, LLMs are mostly trained on the corpus of written text on the internet and in books. It’s pretty rare for people to write in an AAVE style in those contexts.

Based on the fact that OP hadn’t considered VM as a solution, I assume they aren’t super familiar with hypervisors.

That’s not really true. Older GPTs were already really good. Did you ever see SubredditSimulator? I’m pretty sure that first came around like 10 years ago.

Buy a small PC, get one of those keyboard and trackpad things that is the form factor of a TV remote. It’s more expensive but nobody can deprecate it from you and you can stream anything you could stream to a web browser or torrent onto a hard drive. I did it earlier this year and regret not doing it sooner.

bionicjoey@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Elon Musk says Tesla is an AI company now. Here’s how plausible that is.English12·11 months agoThat’s a great observation. They’ve put a lot of resources into their OTA update system. They could abuse that for lots of other things like distributed computing if it were profitable for them to do so, even if it introduces additional risk for their drivers.

You’re making the same assumption many others in this thread do that “AI company” and “car company” are non-overlapping circles on a Venn diagram. In my view this is as ludicrous as saying that “Apple is a phone company, not a software company”
bionicjoey@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Elon Musk says Tesla is an AI company now. Here’s how plausible that is.English33·11 months agoI don’t disagree, but ML and AI are both meaningful terms in the field of computer science, neither of which is meant to be understood as actual human intelligence. Research into self-driving cars is AI research. Regardless of the success of that technology.
