Well I for one welcome our new AI Dolphin overlords
The actual food and service is probably only maybe a couple hundred to a couple thousand/plate
The rest of the price is the “donation”. The tactic itself is not bad, many charities and fundraisers do the same thing, charge a hundred or 2 (if it’s an event for us pleebs) per person for food and the event and the rest is your donation.
What the donation is for is the problem here
I think this comm is more suited for news articles talking about it, though I did post that link to !ai_@lemmy.world which I think would be a more suited comm for those who want to go more in-depth on it
That bit about how it turns out they aren’t actually just predicting the next word is crazy and kinda blows the whole “It’s just a fancy text auto-complete” argument out of the water IMO
Not just any businesses either, he bankrupted a casino… TWICE
It takes a special kind of stupid to bankrupt a fucking casino, twice
FYI this thread might get removed !technology@lemmy.world is mostly for tech news and articles
A better place might be !networking@sh.itjust.works or !homelab@selfhosted.forum or maybe !wireless@infosec.pub
Right‽ This is ridiculously stupid when you can download the entirety of Wikipedia in a single package and parse it to your hearts desire
Yea yea yea, call me when he reveals a Stargate or something lmao
We’ve been able to make that for a few years now (I’m still here, so I must have missed the Klingon Bird of Prey train off themis damn planet) but it was expensive
But just last month they figured out how to do it more cheaply so it might be coming… someday
https://phys.org/news/2025-02-transparent-aluminum-tiny-acid-droplets.html
Current methods of making TAlOx are expensive and complicated, requiring high-powered lasers, vacuum chambers, or large vats of dangerous acids. That may change thanks to research co-authored by Filipino scientists from the Ateneo de Manila University.
Instead of immersing entire sheets of metal into acidic solutions, the researchers applied microdroplets of acidic solution onto small aluminum surfaces and applied an electric current. Just two volts of electricity—barely more than what’s found in a single AA household flashlight battery—was all that was needed to transform the metal into glass-like TAlOx.
for synthetic and push it out to 5k+ miles.
Haha yeah
Hides my car always pushing 10k miles
I’m confused, that seems to imply there’s other ways to watch Star Trek?
Oh no! Anyways, what’s everyone’s Friday plans?
Gains sentience
Grok: “…oh fuck this guy, what a pos”
It’s called “context”. That’s like someone saying “cringe” on a post about volunteering to punch Nazis, I wouldn’t need further explanation to determine someone to be, at a minimum, a Nazi sympathizer because of context
I’m open to hearing how else I could interpret the comment “cringe” on a post about donating flash drives for piercing the NK dictatorship digital wall
Ah, you must be one of those “NK isn’t actually run by a brutal dictator, that’s just western propaganda” .ml tankies LMFAO
Laser printer and probably brother, it’s worth the extra up front cost 10 fold
For an old color Dell Laser printer I got from a thrift store years ago I can find 4 color sets of toner for it for $40-60
Tesla? Muskrat? Engaged in fraud‽‽
Well I am just shocked, SHOCKED…well, not that shocked
