My money’s on 4.
While the Spike Jonze film Her (2013) explored a romance between a man and his virtual personal assistant, 10 years earlier, the movie Demolition Man looked at how technology could play a role in sexual relationships. In an iconic scene, a character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger has virtual sex with Sandra Bullock.
Was this article written by AI? Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t in Demolition Man, and 1993 was not ten years before 2013.
Well, if you trust Wikipedia as a source, the second paragraph of the article on the World Wide Web starts out:
“The Web was invented by English computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee…”
It was an article about the results of a survey about smartphone use. Seems very relevant.
I get the feeling that most of these "experience’ things I’ve been hearing about lately are low effort cash grabs.
I almost never click a video by someone I don’t know these days. It’s almost always a waste of time.
There must be a dozen or so Misskey forks. I know of Sharkey, Firefish, and Iceshrimp.
I think this comic sums it up well:
If a community is not very active but there are a lot of bot posts, it just feels like “lipstick on a pig” - they’re trying to make it seem more active than it really is, and diluting what little “real” activity there is.
Might need to work on the summarizing…
Dang, the future is here.
I was just thinking earlier today, games could probably use AI to seamlessly work the player’s name into dialog. They would still hire voice actors, but insert whatever name the player chooses into the lines where it is mentioned. I feel like this isn’t too far away.
With a limited budget of just $800, nearly half of which was spent on a leather jacket
Lol
The example you mention is actually in the essay itself.
Oh yeah, I guess it was, huh 😅
Poe’s Law in effect in this thread. This is clearly satire.
I thought it was a good read - people don’t think about the value in some of the things we’ve lost in the name of efficiency. It’s like a corner store where you know the employees and see your neighbors versus a big box store with lower prices.
I thought the whole point of NFTs and the blockchain is that it’s decentralized, and you can use “smart contracts” for things like this. How is one company able to decide to change it?
The quality has just been too variable lately.
The one purrcent
Love it, would recommend to anybody. It’s got so much variety, I think anyone could find a game or two they love. I’ve got almost 150 hours in it, mostly on Party House and Campanella 2, which I’ve cherried but keep coming back to.
