Kinda confirms to me that the current admin’s strategy is to destroy as much as possible and only address the squeaky wheels on a case-by-case basis.

The small handful of things that we fight back against and win won’t outweigh the sheer amount of damage they do to things we have less awareness of. A single win, no matter how large or trivial, will sate the general public for a time and give them the calmness the admin needs to keep moving forward.

Pretty sure this is a military strategy and probably has a name. Inundate your enemy with so many events they spread themselves too thin to address everything coming at them.

It’s mostly just morons hacking and slashing with zero understanding. They literally just search for “climate”, “trans”, etc. to cut funding and remove access without checking anything, they just assume they’re correct.

And then when theyr’e called out they just lie and double down. Case in point, they refuse to admit they confused “transgenic” with “transgender” to the point where they made a post on the white house website: https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/03/yes-biden-spent-millions-on-transgender-animal-experiments/ (For reference, it was alzheimers research)

The real scary part is that there are people who have an inkling of what they’re doing, and you’re not hearing much about the things they’re changing.

I think “blitzkrieg” matches somewhat: don’t stop to engage every stronghold, just drive around them, isolate them, and cut off their support networks.

Yeah it got rebranded “shock and awe” by the previous set of fascists that were running the government.

With all the Nazis in government going back to blitzkrieg is probably more accurate.

The German language’s ability to communicate meaning simply through word length is impressive.

Brizlet is probably fine, but Viornzirgizuetunkuszt probably means resource extraction with nuclear bombs or something.

              Viornzirgizuetunkuszt

If anything that sounds more Hungarian than German, with the lack of diphtongs and the “sz” at the end, but funny thing, Hungarian does the same thing as German with compound words, except it makes it even worse with turning prepositions into suffixes.

              For example:

              legösszetettebbszóhosszúságvilágrekorddöntéskényszerneurózistünetegyüttesmegnyilvánulásfejleszthetőségvizsgálat

              meaning

Examination for the treatability of the manifestation of the syndrome of neurosis caused by the compulsion of breaking the world record of the most heavily compunded word.

Technically this isn’t correct, as you should put a hyphen in there somewhere between the two main parts to improve readability if it’s more than 6 syllables. Good luck finding the “two main parts” though. Maybe:

              legösszetettebbszóhosszúságvilágrekorddöntéskényszer-neurózistünetegyüttesmegnyilvánulásfejleszthetőségvizsgálat

But you can also go crazy with suffixes, the often cited example is megszentségteleníthetetlenkedéseitekért, which is not at all a compound word, it means “for your acts of repeated demonstration of your beliefs that you are unable to be made unholy” (with a plural you).

And finally, you can just do an infinite loop to construct arbitrarily long words using suffixes, like this:

              úszik - swims
úsztat - makes someone or something swim
              úsztattat - makes sy/sg make sy/sg swim
              úsztattattat - makes sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg swim

              úsztattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattattat - makes sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg … make sy/sg make sy/sg make sy/sg swim

              Lol yeah it roughly means „center of gravity battle“ loosely translating „Schwerpunkt“ - „center of gravity“ & „schlacht“ - „Battle“. While Blitzkrieg consists of „blitz“ - „lightning“ and „Krieg“ - „war“

They’re applying the techbro startup “move fast and break thing” motto, which can be a good strategy while you’re small to disrupt the established players.

Not souch when you’re a behemoth like the goverment that can’t adjust its trajectory on a whim when facing an imminent collision, and the general public ends up with the short stick while the oligarchs picks up the pieces of a self-sabotaging system.

I hear this one a lot, but the purpose of the “move fast and break things” methodology is to make things better. In some cases, that does work, and it’s usually applied with benefit in mind.

Shock and awe might be more appropriate. Do as many things as possible to stun the population, so only the dedicated will push back.

In debates it is sometimes referred to as gish gallop. Throw a huge number of things out there without regard for the likelihood of success with each of them to overwhelm the opponent.

The US, and now MAGA, have historically been willing to play with a great many loaded guns. And we’ve shot ourselves in the foot a great many times. Dead soldiers? Meh. But fucking with our food supply has always been off the table.

Not to get all lemmy/capitalist/communist/revolution/comrade on ya, but as long as we’re fat and happy, no violence. The government is not stupid, not at that level anyway. Look how the government laid in food during the Cold War, converted us to a food exporter, fucked with Russia’s wheat exports. The powers that be are keenly aware that the population is a very short 3-days away from total breakdown. 2 weeks without food and the guns come out.

How many people voted Trump because egg prices were too high? Serious question. How many ignorant voters thought, “This is some boolshit! This is the President’s fault and I want change!”

Now imagine us fat Americans skipping a single meal. FFS, we rioted over a toilet paper shortage, and made it worse by rioting. Merely inconveniencing an armed population who has always had access to cheap and easy food? The mind boggles. Wait till we see empty consumer goods shelves in the next couple of months. Imagine if that was food.

EDIT: Too tired to get my thoughts in order. You get my drift. Goodnight John Boy.
