For the cohort sure but telling a man who need a job to form a union is useless. He needs a job in his field ideally for the same or better comp.
The issue now is that there appears to be an aggressive wage suppression campaign against software developers as result of domestic over supply due to decade old shill campaign along with super aggressive offshoring since covid. Unionizing under these conditions are nearly impossible imho they have unionized when they had market power.
Same, I got laid off recently and 12 years of experience isn’t even getting me interviews at in-person jobs.

The way out is creating cooperative companies where the programmers have more votes than marketing people.
The way out is to pivot away from now-oversaturated fields.
