This isn’t new. Look at Valnet.
Uncle Ted we need you
SEO spammers force-multiplied by LLMs. It was inevitable.
A really bad thing is that nobody seems to know what SEO/blog spammers are. Social media is reading headlines and upliking the slop.
It still never ceases to amaze me how the adtech industry is a thing with all this. It’s fakery upon fakery to the Nth degree. Yet somehow it generates money.
becauses advertising is the original LLM anyway. you tell business owners what they want to hear. at the big-business level you just need a graph saying X thing probably gets seen by people to poiint to, they already have X% of revenues set aside for advertising (whatever arbitrary # happens to be “industry standard”) long as you have graphs sqying the line goes up.
There are such obvious posts on places like Facebook and X that are obvious rage bait and those people, even if it’s 1/100000 of a cent still make something from you interacting with those posts. Even if you go in to the comments to tell others not to comment they made money off of you.
The best reaction is to scroll on by
They still get the “impression” just by it being rendered and on the screen for a certain amount of time.
They own a website named “space daily” which is thier biggest source of profit -10 million views per month -and articles in that website are published by authors that do not really exist.
Dr katherine Chen and Dr James whitfield that the website claims as NASA experts on aerospace medicine and space softwares do not exist in real life.
So you are reading content that is made up based on a flawed code logic, delivered as science based facts that was generated by a bias machine model.
This should be illegal and they should be required to pay a large fine. Disinformation is not a minor crime imo.
It should not be a large fine. It should be EVERYTHING they made through this.
Ideally more than what they made.
Now we’re fucking talking!
There alot of things that should be illegal.
woud start with war criminals killing childrens and bombing babies ( war criminals were elected by millions of people )
Why not both?
Making the world worse for everybody just to make money. I don’t understand how people like this can live with themselves.
Some people believe relative status is more important than absolute, so kicking others down is good.
relative/absolute status
Interesting idea. What’s absolute status then?
I just stumbled upon the term and ran with it.
The experience of deprivation: Does relative more than absolute status predict hostility?
“the absolute level of how well‐off people are”, “objective resources”I guess when there’s pure relative change of status, absolute status is assumed to stay the same:

(Futurama: “Executive delivery boy”)the subjective experience of being worse off than others is a better predictor for hostility than is the absolute level of how well‐off people are.
Oh, I get it now. Thanks.
They probably get a lot of praise. People treat rich people like they are better and smarter people by default. How often i have heard: shhhh do you know how much money he makes? Okay i don’t get the correlation
of which 45 million are bot views.
I read (or heard, in a podcast) something very similar a while ago, but the guy wasn’t American.
What struck me was how unapologetic and open he was about the whole process.
Once again I’m reminded of Cambridge Analytica; the biggest scandal for me was that what they’re doing* is legal, and nobody focused on it. It was all about Zuckerberg’s fuck-up.
* it’s called “political consulting” but really it’s election interference incl. the creation of users, sites, and blogs to sway the minds of potential voters. Enhanced Astroturfing.
