In a world of strapping bombs to an FPV drone I’m surprised we arent seeing more assassinations. I’m not trying to push people to do it, I dont think its at the point where these people(ceo’s) need to be assassinated. But the way I see a significant amount of people speaking about these people makes me wonder why someone crazy hasnt done it. Look at all the praise for Luigi Magone and he showed you dont even do anything sophisticated.

I dont think there is much you can do to defend from a truly angry population because of how asymmetrical the attack surface is. Its probably why there is such a rush to move to copy China’s style of information lockdown so they can stop the sentiment before it builds.

OpenAI is reportedly running war games for a public uprising after an AI catastrophe. Nothing says »we’re building technology for humanity« quite like rehearsing what to do when humanity shows up furious at your door. Apparently the contingency plan for losing public trust is to prepare for the public, rather than stop giving them reasons to distrust you.

It’s ok they will use their AI to wargame and it will fumble the bag as it can only extrapolate based on previous data and not account for people being pissed.

I’m sorry Mark it I was completely wrong to say they wouldn’t reach for the guillotines, I can remember that in future scenarios. Let me know what you want to do next?

Top AI labs are conducting Pentagon-style war games

Don’t you clowns have any real work to do over there?

What am I saying, never mind.

When the scope of that public backlash first came into focus, tech billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg responded with some tone-deaf media stunts, hoping to win back hearts and minds by the millions. Now that this strategy has clearly failed, executives at top AI labs are starting to workshop standard operating procedures in the event of a massive revolt against them.

This includes leaders at Anthropic and OpenAI, according to Axios, which broke the story. These amount to Pentagon-style “war games,” essentially, with AI labs hammering out responses to hypothetical scenarios like massive cyberattacks enabled by their products, or a political revolt in reaction to some sort of catastrophic event triggered by their models.
