I didn’t know about the DVD region thing. I once worked in retail (Dick Smith Electronics), and we sold region-4 locked DVD players. However, our POS had region unlock instructions in the product description, which I would print and attach to each and every sale.

They need to make unlock codes available once off contract from memory.
