TikTok IS spying on you.
No more so than any other social media app, and as someone who lived in America at the time, China having my data was far less threatening than America having my data.
Tiktok duplicated their server infrastructure just for America so no American data would leave the country.
See the thing about boosting what the state department wanted boosted and censoring what they told them to censo. Tiktok isn’t Chinese propaganda, it’s American propaganda.
But it’s true that the evil CCP is no longer communist: just totalitarian crony capitalist.
The CPC’s tendency to favor the working class over capital suggests otherwise; they’ve raised a billion people out of poverty, while India is a net exporter of food but still has children dying of hunger-related diseases. When a baby formula factory in China killed or sickened a dozen babies due to greed and gross negligence, they took the executives out back and shot them, and opened the market up to foreign imports. When the same thing happened in the US, nobody went to jail and the US didn’t even approve EU imports of formula because that would hurt the profits of the company that had just murdered literal babies.
I would never call China a utopia, but you have to actually understand a thing if you want to make meaningful criticisms of it.
This is the natural progression.
They started hiring a bunch of natsec ghouls when Trump tried to ban them in 2020, and increased it under Biden when the dems jumped on the “tiktik is spying on you! Evil CCP is turning the youth into communists!” Bandwagon, and started algo boosting right-wing content under Trump pt II.
SIXT and TURO. Maybe price out renting the big truck from Lowe’s/home depot. Or a haul. Both might be cheaper than hertz/enterprise depending on your area.
Moderation.
Nah, you wouldnt see 24/7 restaurants like ガスト using them; similar to the conveyors at sushiro, it enables the company to run a 30 table restaurant with like 3 people.
You’re overselling the place where half the buildings are in perfect condition because they turn to shit and get knocked down and something else built every 20 years or so.
They phased out their subsidies in 2022
They still have a trade in program to get ICE vehicles off the road.
Buyers of any EV not just American EVs.
I was talking about china, their federal govt ended ev subsidies in 2022. I suspect some city and provincial level govts still do various types of subsidies.
We they imprisoned for not wanting to be controlled by a dictatorship?
Bro are you trying to justify slavery in the US? You dont have to do that to criticize China. But you have to have to learn about its actual problems, not just accept any silly stories western media comes up with. Try visiting some time, its incredibley cheap, you can rent out decent sized apartments for 15/night in most cities, theres also sleeper trains, combine transport and 1 nights lodging, and food is often <2usd/meal.
Imagine Trump declaring that every college grad needs to make themselves available to build a border wall.
That’s not how that works at all, they simply invest more into educating people into a particular field to ensure there will be enough people with the required skills in a particular area.
How did you even misinterpret my post like that?
The average new truck costs 50% more. Every small car they sell is a lost truck sale.
5K/year isn’t exactly poverty when rent is <200, phone data is 20, and you can get pic for 1.50 USD. I too would like them to be treated better, but I dont know if their overall situation is worse than the average american worker making 50K, but spending 24K on rent, 12K on car payments, and 16USD if they eat out.
China builds cars using massive government subsidies
The federal government ended the the EV subsidy a few years ago.
slave labor
lmao. We know what slavery looks like, you can see it in the cotton fields outside Angola Prison, rows of enslaved people, and overseer on a horse, all behind barbed wire. In Xinjiang I saw farmers driving combine harvesters in roadside fields.
local resources that arent available
You’re getting closer. Through 1 and 5 year plans, the CPC uses SoEs (and sometimes just asks private companies “nicely”) to ensure the foundational inputs, steel, rubber, chips, college graduates, etc are all available to industry at the specific price point and volume that competing private firms need to produce say, 100m EVs or a million more apartments.
Any country can do a little central planning to make sure private industry has what it needs, but this only works if you’re able to take action against companies that exploit the system.
Every time I try switching to Linux I run into some issue I just cant fix and go back to windows, currently pirated win10 IOT LTSC. Last time it was getting the USB ports to recognize an ESP32, the time before that graphics card drivers, the time before that it would either take ages to boot or not boot at all, the time before that software I couldnt get to run.
