You have any tips? My power consumption on battery is ~30% higher on linux than they were on windows

In the Scandinavian countries this sort of software is usually provided by the school/university, so the students don’t have to buy it. You may however be (essentially) forced to use that software, since other options aren’t supported. The exam software my uni uses for instance only runs on Windows & MacOS.
Haven’t tried. I did use Mint on a second laptop a while back, and that was nice, but I wanted something with KDE Plasma this time
Our government will forcibly insure you if you don’t have one, so technically you don’t have to buy anything. It’s just more expensive than anything on the market.
Basic traffic liability insurance sorta makes sense - it’d suck you had your car wrecked by someone broke and were SOL.
It suggested 200GiBs for root, which seemed a bit excessive but I didn’t argue
Mint was 2nd in line on the choice list, so not far off!
But b-tree file system sounds way less fun!
It’s already cemented itself as butterfly system in my mind lol
Thanks! Next step is getting equivalents for all the software I use and figuring out proton.
Most of them (thankfully) are foss, but I’ve a few without equivalents.
Oh undoubtedly!
Hopefully my partitioning was decent though, so distro-hopping shouldn’t be too hard if I feel like switching (or even running different distros side-by-side?)
I was personally drawn to it because: it’s not Ubuntu; ButterFS seems like a nice safety net; KDE Plasma is sexy AF; noone seems to have anything particularly horrible to say about it.
Why is your chosen distro (obviously) the superior choice?
I would’ve been fine paying if the price reflected what I was actually paying for (not being advertised to) which would be <$0.005 per viewed video (let’s be generous and call it 1 or 2$/mo) but noo they have to ask for 25$/month like greedy little shits.
Would you care to elaborate on this, and preferrably add sources for your statements (or pm me) so I can read further?
is that “biological sex” is just not actually a particularly meaningful concept.
It’s “meaningfulness” is secondary - it is most certainly a highly useful concept in the science and practice of biology and medicine.
Naw, digital transfers are convenient saving both time and money for me and everybody else. However, trying to force people into digital transactions, or remove cash entirely is a huge problem. I always have a decent amount of hard currency on me, and occasionally use that money.
The majority of my transactions are done digitally however, purely because of convenience.
… so what you do is set up a rule that everybody will break - “no drinking with shoes on” - and only enforce it against people you want to kick out 👍
It’s pretty good actually. No ads and you can access videos from a lot of platforms in the one app (including premium ones if you have a subscription to them). It also makes it easier to follow a single creator across platforms. Also, lets you download videos for offline access, allows casting, PiP and a bunch of other stuff.
My only real complaint is that the recommendations aren’t very good yet, so I end up going back to YT/revanced to discover new stuff, and there currently isn’t any way to use sponsorblock with it.
Still, considering it’s in alpha, great stuff.
Stopped using reddit & facebook
started using the fediverse
Got my own domain and set up an email via proton

Almost every day. For a while I had a pair of decent wireless headphones, but they broke and I haven’t had money to spare for new ones.
An Electric car for 8k€? Where, how, what? Cheapest new I’ve seen is roughly 35k
A good/skilled driver is not necessarily a safe driver & vice versa.
For the pinnacle of that statement, look up the “suicide evo” on YT.
