I hate zealots. Fuckin religious twats trying to ruin it for everyone else.

Truthfully I haven’t gotten a chance to use an 8k screen, so my statement is more hypothetical “I can see a possible benefit”.

For media I highly agree. 8k doesn’t seem to add much. For computer screens I can see the purpose though as it adds more screen real estate which is hard to get enough of for some of us. I’d love to have multiple 8k screens so I can organize and spread out my work.

So I have a pet theory on studies like that. There are many things out there that many of us take for granted and as givens in our daily lives. But there are likely equally as many people out there to which this knowledge is either unknown or not actually apparent. Reasoning for that can be a myriad of things; like due to a lack of experience in the given area, skepticism that their anecdotal evidence is truly correct despite appearances, and on and on.
What these “obvious thing is obvious” studies accomplish is setting a factual precedent for the people in the back. The people who are uninformed, not experienced enough, skeptical, contrarian, etc.
The studies seem wasteful upfront, but sometimes a thing needs to be said aloud to galvanize the factual evidence and give basis to the overwhelming anecdotal evidence.
So you’re more asking for a native PS app. Don’t think they’ve dedicated any time to it
Do you need to run it behind a VPN?
It shouldn’t take that long. An hour or two of your time to get a really fleshed out install assuming you are a little tech savvy which it seems you are if you already have a NAS.
Then users don’t have to read it. I’m glad they include it whether I read every note or not. It’s refreshingly transparent. It shows how much work is going on to add perspective to their effort, and it allows me to go back and check for something if I have a very specific issue.
Edit: So much better than the nebulous and infuriating “Various Bug Fixes and Changes”

I have said the same as well. Prior to them dropping the fat grumpy that is 11, I was all in on the windows ecosystem for myself. I heavily modified it of course so it didn’t have a bunch of the nonsense but overall, the experience was good. But then they started warping 10, and then they came out with 11 which was massive garbage at release and now is worse garbage years down the road. And with that AI outlook, I’m full on bailing from everything.

Nobody has worked harder in the push for Linux than Microsoft.

Love a good isolated vlan

I want to move to a cabin in the mountains near the ocean. Maybe the northern fjords of scandinavia. Somewhere cold. Fuck sitting still and sweating. But otherwise I’m on board with this idea too. lol

hopefully you can eventually find something to replace them with. TP-Link doesn’t have a great track record imo. Poor build quality, bad software, extensive unpatched vulnerabilities, and accusations of spyware (I haven’t gone to the effort to confirm that point yet though.) I messed with them a few times doing network support for businesses. Hated them every time I touched them. Maybe the light switches aren’t as bad in all areas, but I doubt their networking is any better, it’s probably worse since it’s IoT.

I am simple person. I see geekbench, I ignore claims and rest of article.
No one believed it was the wifi. And I think similarly few would believe a DDoS…

I wonder if this applies to those of us with the non Ai version.

Awww yiss. Thank you for that.

I want to hear this in action. I bet it’s satisfying af
Fuckin lunatics.
