CWA is the example I always point to as to why vibe coded software doesn’t make sense for broad use. CWA updates are slow (but detailed) which inspires many folks to “fork” it with vibe coded apps, but since CWAs last update in Feb, several vibe coded “competitor” projects have risen and fallen.

Me too lol I thought What’s Up Docker was for auto updates. What does it do?

I recently switched to Dockhand from Portainer and I like it a lot more, it’s much cleaner and straightforward. It also auto-updates so you might be able to ditch whats up docker too.

Everything is in docker or a virtual machine that starts on boot. Docker containers are managed with Dockhand’s web ui. Once a month I ssh and “sudo apt upgrade” but that’s it.

I tried to use olivetin to avoid having to ssh but I ran into errors I haven’t had time to investigate yet.

Google Keep is my white whale of self hosted apps. The vibe coding aspect gives me pause as I have been burned before but it is too promising to turn down so I’ll give it a shot!

Portainer has worked well for me but it has so much that I don’t need or use. It looks like Dockhand has a Home Assistant integration which is nice, so I’ll check that out thanks for the rec.

Same and same! I don’t think it’s fully sunk in for a lot of Linux die-hards the game changer that is immutability/flatpaks.

Not running on a Pi yet, any spying would depend on the distro. There’s no dedicated Bigscreen distro yet but I’m pretty sure it’s being worked on.

That’s true even the premium brands won’t halfway decent CPUs in them to keep the giant bloated menus from stuttering.

There’s no best answer right now, Plasma Bigscreen is making good progress.

I could never get those Android TV builds to work with CEC which kind of defeats the purpose for me. I’ll try it out with the next update. Librelec had no issues.

I couldn’t find a working YouTube app on Kodi, nor any of the streaming sites (besides Disney plus oddly) nor Plex. It kinda felt like a real debrid frontend and graveyard of plugins.
