Nintendo doesn’t seem to care about all other emulators of their previous consoles nearly as much, hopefully it stays that way

Yeah, that’s where I get about one third of my music. Another third is from Qobuz and the rest is converted from YT or somewhere else. Furthermore, I use MP3Tag and RSGain or Picard to organize the files and set replay gain tags so audio players can play the tracks with normalized volume.

Consider buying and/downloading your favorite tracks to make an offline library. In my case it was totally worth the effort. I get to keep it forever, everything plays instantly and I need no subscription or internet connection. Also I can still pay to stream for a month from time to time.

I see a lot of oversimplifying analogies in the comments, but in my opinion none of them take into account that users of AI don’t know how it works or its risks, and some AI like Grok offers inherently problematic and potentially harmful/illegal functionality

That shortened headline phrasing is semantically ambiguous. With context it’s clear, but it can also be read as “Meta has caught paying nazis in order to post on Facebook”

I get your point, but what would be an alternative term for content or creators in general? One that encompasses all types of media. Maybe “artists” and “art”, but that doesn’t always fit, I guess

I generally agree, but those terms you prefer are specific about the type of media. I think “creator” and “content” are still the most neutral and catch-all terms, but they have been tarnished by commercialized platforms.

I usually avoid corporate stuff, but not always. What term do you prefer over “creator”?

I think the next tier would be to only pirate media that is licensed by huge corporations and still buy indie media to support creators
Consider these open-source front-ends:
No ads, no tracking, very customizable. You can import subscriptions, but signing in isn’t supported except in FreeTube Mobile. Also these apps sometimes don’t work for a few days whenever YT changes its back-end.
