  • I don’t have a good grasp on what technology exists for space, but I would assume that radiators of some sort would be possible. Not in the conventional way that they ineract with a medium to release heat, but instead that the radiators emit heated particles - kind of in the same way that water evaporates without boiling. With that being said, I have no idea what efficiency that would operate under, and I have no idea if such a radiator would be used up fast. It sounds like a terrible idea, but I don’t posess the facts.

Some people don’t believe in space travel because there is no air to push against in the way that jet engines work. But they fail to understand that space travel operates under other ways to generate force. I just don’t want to end up in the same sort of argument as them, believing that it’s not possible to cool down machines in space just because there is no medium for conventional cooling.

  • For what it’s worth, the battle mechanics of pokemon scarlet and violet is as follows:

You can throw your pokeball to an empty spot to have your pokemon walk along with you. It will then automatically fight other wild pokemon in the overworld through extremely simple mechanics, which doesn’t require any actions from you. If you instead throw your pokeball directly at the wild pokemon, you end up in a normal, classical battle with that pokemon.

So it sounds like it’s specifically those mechanics that they are patenting, which has a significant overlap with Palworld.

It’s bullshit that this is a patent, and I know nothing of the system, but I find it completely idiotic if this will allow them to retroactively make legal claims against a game which was released before the patent was created.

  • I have predicted this for a while now. As this will take effect, the airline no longer have responsibility for what sets the prices. The AI could for instance become very racist, driving prices through the roof for colored people if it somehow determines that well-paying racist customers will pay more to fly with only white people. Several scenarios like that could unfold, and since LLMs are basically impossible to get the source values for their decissions, no one can be held responsible for such choices.

Oh, and I’m sure the data from 23andMe will be abused soon to ensure that only healthy people get good prices. The personal data which “didn’t matter that we shared” is about to unfold.
