Been taking turns with my SO playing Bore Blasters. It’s a vampire survivor like, I think, but the experience is smoother. It’s not something I’d have played for long on my own, since the constant rewards and positive feedback overwhelms my brain a bit, but taking turns it’s great fun.

Also started ship of fools and creatures of Ava, don’t mind either so far.

I keep wanting to replay Silksong but I should wait until the first DLC comes out…

Pausing Backpack Hero a bit and playing American Arcadia. It’s a short story-driven game with some puzzles. 2 hours in, so far really liking it. I don’t know what makes me invested in a character, but this game’s got it.

Otherwise it’s been a week of mostly board games, which is nice, since I mostly play video games by myself.

Portal 2 with a friend, after a two-year long hiatus. Looks like we accidentally went to the last level after level 2, watched the ending cutscene, now we’re back to playing level 3 lol.

Backpack Hero is my current daily game. It’s a nice fun roguelite although I sometimes wish it was a little harder. Taking a break from Hades II for a while even though I am possibly one step away from finishing the main story.

As long as you’re comfortable setting up the emulations, Steam Deck seems like a better choice then.

Has she tried playing on your steam deck?

I got the OLED Deck this year to replace my Switch, and the first thing I noticed was that my hands are not quite big enough. I can’t reach the Y button with my thumb quickly, and I cannot comfortably put my index and middle fingers on the bumper and trigger buttons. I ended up mapping the bumpers to the back buttons and got used to pressing trigger with my index finger, but it took a while to get over my muscle memory.

I think I’m doing the final fight of Silksong, although there are a few things I plan to go back to finish afterwards.

Just bought Hades 2 yesterday, but not sure when I’ll play it. After Silksong I’m probably going to play something less action heavy for a while.

It feels quite annoying to me.

Still playing Silksong, I should probably be getting to Act 3 now, but I’m procrastinating and trying to find more hidden places.

Got an infection and couldn’t get off the bed much for a couple days, played lots of Silksong. Would have been bored to death otherwise

Got a steam deck in preparation of Silksong, having fun playing Untitled Geese Game, the couch coop is awesome. Also thinking I will try to finally finish Portal, hopefully before Thursday

I would change the difficulty and then regret it later, which I did with Furi and Jedi fallen order.

Furi’s combat is so good, and the easy mode is well designed too (still challenging, enemies just have less complex movesets and possibly fewer phases), but I wish I had taken a break and fought through the game properly. Now that I’ve finished the game on easy and seen the ending, I don’t think I ever will revisit it.

It’s really a small inconvenience, but using an adapter would mean I’d be prone to misplace it when I use my headphones on anything else, so it hardly makes anything better

No earphone jack again. That’s a bit sad. Even though I mainly use BLT earbuds, I still sometimes wish I could use my wired headphones. It’s just a small inconvenience

I’m not sure if Rollerdrome might be your thing, but I enjoyed it. You play as a girl competing in a roller-skating death arena. It’s a bit like Tony hawk games, but combat plays a huge role, it’s very satisfying and it’s very well integrated with the rollerskating. I really enjoyed the first ten or so scenarios, but I’m not so good at score based games so I never finished it.

I was trying for the second time to enjoy animal well. I kind of see how it’s a great game, but playing it feels like torture to me. I’m constantly second-guessing myself whenever I’m stuck, I don’t know if I haven’t figured out the puzzle, suck at platforming, or missing a tool.

Thinking about playing Hades again next week.

Very very slowly playing the Stanley Parable. It’s pretty nice, I often feel mocked by the narrator.

Started the Stanley parable, haven’t gotten far yet, but it’s rather interesting.

It’s been so long that I’d forgotten the name of the game, turns out I got it confused with a game with extremely similar mechanics, only realised today when I found the sequel to the game I played. The game that I’ve played and loved is called Lapse. It’s free on Google Play store.
