I got in to IT by just writing on my CV what I know I can do and what I learned in my free time.
Some company interviewed me, I could convince them that I really know a lot of stuff and that got me in.
Ever since then all I had where the companies I worked at and that was sufficient

Scrolling down should show you the different screenshots. Point 6. of the list should show the “Storage” Tab where you have the “Host Path Volumes”
That should enable you to link a path on your host to a path on your docker container.
For example Host: /mnt/mediashare/audiobooks Container: /media/audiobooks
I have my garuda installation just where and how i want it to be. NixOS just always seemed very interesting, but i don’t want to run it on my daily machine.
It’s a tool like any other. If you don’t have any usecase for it, just don’t use it.
I use it to summarize release notes and generate some minor descriptions for generic stuff in my TTRPG campaigns.
Never tried it but afaik the dev of Kavita actually recommends Calibre in conjunction with Kavita at some point
Oh i am not the dev of that application. I just posted the new release here
I’m super happy with it
I guess I should try out cachyOS by now.
Heard so many good things of it
I also use the AIO docker and I’m happy with it.
Fully automatic Borg backups from within the container is neat
I selfhost manyfold and it works fine for my collection
Oh i know we do, i’m on linux since years, but still the biggest titles are not enabled for linux.
Have been playing LoL for an eternity and can’t play it anymore. (couldn’t be happier but that’s not the thing we’re talking about lol)
And around 70% of all online players are on those missing 2% :D
I switched for that exact reason. And I certainly did not want them to share any of my activities 😁
It was just better with metadata, it was snappier when finding songs.
i switched from plex to jellyfin because i like the FOSS approach more. But plex is so incredibly much better as a music backend than jellyfin.
Jellyfin is fine, but not perfect
i really really enjoy jellyfin + symfonium - it’s a paid app but it’s super awesome imo
Yeah but as far as i know, unraid doesn’t really do anything that for example TrueNAS Scale can’t do? And TrueNAS is free and really rock-solid.
So if someone doesn’t want to host an Ubuntu Server i’d recommend checking out TrueNAS Scale and simply throwing some dockers at it
