I have great memories of dune on the Sega… got to the end and stale mated the game because my last living combat unit and the computers could not kill each other…

Here’s my analogy:

I’ve been in the culinary industry 37+ years and a lot of famous chefs have come and gone, a lot have been very disparaged by regular chefs in the industry.

But here’s the thing: those famous chefs promote your industry, which in turn offers you more opportunities. They should be embraced, and not shit on.

Anyone who shows an interest, even if it’s only ‘fashionable’ because MS fucked up again, should be given the benefit of the doubt and assisted (if that’s your thing) or encouraged to break away from the kings of enshitification.

Had the original all the way up to the last series and finally stopped using it because the Steam Deck is more useful and better at what it does.

Plus I’m not pigeonholed into one systems games.

I had the original Xbox all the way through the last series and sold it to get the last 100€. I hadn’t bought a game on the Xbox since No Man’s Sky and just didn’t see anything appealing about it anymore, it was just a steaming box until it was gone (and is at a friend’s, who is using it as a streaming box, lol)

Ogame is one of those free browser games with pay to win mechanics. I play it every few years just to get rid of that build and deploy fleet bug.

NMSky was pretty mellow and I enjoyed it, up until all the planets i discovered and named had thier names reverted back. No cursing or anything obvious as to why, most were Donkey themed since I am a_d0nkey.

IMO its a specialty market now, the demand isnt there to make a streamlined business model for a large enough profit for the investment

Half life Haven’t replayed it since it came out annnnd…just got a new steam deck and have it hooked up to the TV & controller…

I’m in this mind set.

I really didn’t get it when I visited a planet, then the next…then the next and they (collection missions??? absolutely forgettable) seemed very monotonous.

I did like the robots/bad guys who spoke in a blur of noise, and thought the way the wepons worked (using the “mass effect”) was interesting…but…that was about it.

literally everything else was forgettable and…meh… which is a shame for me because I really wanted to like it.
