The president of the company was shady af. I got out of there just as Adobe was making the transition to subs. I mean if your answer is always books, then it would make sense that one might not be aware of change. It takes a long time to create a book and things are changing at a much more rapid pace, so your learnt “skill” is no longer relevant in todays job market even though it may be new to you
