I used to have my car commands (AC, location, seat heaters, etc) on a shortcut. It was stacked shortcuts calling APIs and passing tokens and storing these for later use to reuse the same token.
I watch embedded videos all the time. Literally hundreds this weekend. Embedded is not “de facto blocked”.
Sorry, unrelated, but my Lemmy client says that you have “-1” downvotes and 49 upvotes. How is that even possible? It should only be a positive integer. On the web client, it shows nothing for downvotes, but says 48 upvotes instead of 49…
Maybe I’m just lucky in where I am in a FAANG company, because I’ve only been offered mobility in my job, even directly after a promotion! We encourage work across the organization, but we have like 500 devs in this org.

How is Apple Pay just as bad? I haven’t heard anything that they do like this. There is no advertising in the Apple ecosystem. In fact, several places (like Walmart) don’t want to adopt the tap to pay because for some cards, it blocks tracking from them by using a pseudo randomized credit card number every time. It makes using the rewards for places a pain, but it works at maintaining harder tracking for whoever you’re paying.
Yea, last time I tired, you have to connect to its personal wifi hotspot and download them via the app. It’s so backwards!
Damn… I go to a corner store Amazon Go almost every time I go into the office for a flavored seltzer. They have dog treats and my my dog loves going there every time.
I hope this is one of the convenience stores that it keeps open.
It was weird that last year they reversed the way you pay, making you pay/scan your code on the way out. So backwards to the “just walk out” motto. They went back on it less than 6 months later.
Do you not know how to properly search in discord? Sure forums are better but a message in discord isn’t “gone forever” if you’re searching. It’s a pretty fast to search too, which is an insanely impressive feat due to the sheer amount of messages.

I charge every 2-3 hours for 15-25 mins. So a 6.5 hour trip will take about 7.5-8 hours. For my latest cross country trip, it took 48 hours with charging from Seattle to Jackson Mississippi. Google says it’s a 38 hour drive. So it added about 25% but he drive was so much more enjoyable. We got food at all of our stops so it didn’t add that much time when you factor in stopping for food, gas, water, dog, etc. Sure it adds a little time, but it helps me stay awake.
Charging infrastructure is only going to get better and faster. Imagine a 500mile battery that charges to 80 in 15 mins. You’ll only stop every 4-5 hours for 15 mins. About the same as a gas car now.
Also, that’s why I said I can’t wait to have charging infrastructure with other automakers.
I didn’t say everyone should get an EV either. I’d much rather have better mass public transit. I’m just saying the infrastructure is there for EV charging.
I have over 110k miles on my EV in 5 years, and that’s including COVID lockdown and then moving to the city where I drive even less. The charging infrastructure is there for Tesla. I was able to drive across the country (Washington to Mississippi/Alabama) three times so far, down in rural Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, in the snow, through the Rocky mountains, through the cascades for hikes, etc.
It’s a no brainer. I’m never going back to anything with a combustion engine. If Tesla can do charging infrastructure that makes 99.9% of the US easily accessible, so can Ford or any other big EV manufacturer.
I’m in Seattle, and cell service was out too. However, I do have a southern number. That couldn’t be it, could it?
Yea, that’s not how the older Model 3 works. I wish they weren’t doing that. The blinker and shifter stalk are so easy.
With the Tesla Model 3, most things you need are on the steering wheel anyways. Volume, cruise, skip, follow distance, answer calls, etc. but there is a big infotainment system for everything else. I don’t mind it because I love the customization of where my buttons are rather than the crappy default of however the manufacturer sets up the buttons.

It’s because Apple provides a very easy to integrate with SDK. A lot of apps I use have the same native UI, like YouTube and Plex, because of this.
Huh? Use the remote app on your phone. It automatically pops up like a notification when there’s a text box on the screen. So easy. You can turn the box off by holding the power button for a few seconds. To close apps, you double tap the TV button and then it’s an iOS like interface that you scroll over and swipe up on the ones you want to close.
The UI is very minimal and the same across most all apps, so it’s easy to learn and use. It may be missing some power features, but most things are accessed via clicking of just holding.
I’m not sure how many it has, but is only for 4 hours. If you have charging at home, it’s too much hassle to charge at work and fight the crowd. It’s for people that need it. And charging for 4 hours on 240v 40a will be 48kWh, which is 144 miles. You only need that every few days. But it is a huge parking garage in the city. It can definitely handle 200 EVs charging if they wire it up right.
I’ve only had an EV for 2.5 years. It just works. It’s good and reliable. It’s not “let’s wait”time anymore. I’ve driven to the country in Canada and camped in the heat with my AC and made it back to a charging station. They’re everywhere now. It’s not 2015 anymore.
The price does need to come down still though.
Yep! I did it for a final project, called DANK WEB. We implemented an airhorn counter. We found out the day before that it just stored the value it saw +1 to the DB so a bad actor could reset the count. Then we easily figured out that we could just reference the DB so we fixed the bad actor part.
We got a 98 on the final. It was the most fun I had on a project in all of college.
