Rust was created by a homophobe javascript, too
for some reason chatgpt responds well to “no yapping”
i’m from the uk and i’ve gotten used to seeing these headlines and assuming they don’t apply to me. still waiting on my gtx 970 payout :-)
average lemmy.world user
also while I am on my soap box, ai-bro and crypto-bro are gendered insults and we should do better
Plus in their blog post they mention that they haven’t read through most of the leaks themselves so they don’t even know what kind of info they might be posting about potentially unrelated people, in an attack on “AI” that won’t stop disney even a little bit. Like, I understand the desire to help creative people but I don’t see how this is doing that
Huh, I looked through the website of the hacking team and they use slurs and talk about posting on 4chan, it’s not a great look for a group trying to get on the good side of creative peoples imo
thanks, i looked into apples cloud, they have this article https://security.apple.com/blog/private-cloud-compute/
it all seems okay from a technical perspective but you are right that it’s not good to have to trust apple here. i would love to see a setting to prompt the user for apples cloud, in the same way that it currently prompts for chatgpt.
yeah, i remember watching the announcement live, they said that in some cases it would prompt the user, like this
(photo taken from apples announcement blog post)
“anything slightly complex” is an overstatement though, it would ask for some specific LLM tasks, and the vast majority of what apple has built is not LLM or even generative. to me the most useful features are prioritising notifications for a semi-dnd mode and searching for objects in photos 🤷♀️
wasn’t the main point of apples ai that it runs on device? asking explicitly every time it might need to send data anywhere else seems fine
I named myself but im into tech does that count
been using WHAT??
“managed to coax”? they literally just asked it
absolutely fucking unhinged system prompt, though
Or they added a new setting and left it on by default without telling you. I’ve seen this happen with a few sites before
Apex runs on Linux though
On iOS in the UK you’re not able to sideload on the new update so probably not
If you’re willing to pay $10 and you want all the content without torrents, maybe usenet is what you’re looking for?
something kept messing with my dns and i’m too lazy to find out why so i hardcoded etc/resolv.conf and chmod +i on it
