My company does badge swipe checking, checks whether you connect to the corporate wifi with your laptop, and monitors you with motion sensing / heat tracking software fron the moment you walk in the door. 3 days a week mandatory
I woke up this morning and thought of this exact scenario, then found your comment lol
Yes, this is bad for anyone who travels for work and can’t trust the network they connect to.
If your LAN is already compromised with a rogue DHCP server, you’ve got bigger problems than them intercepting just VPN traffic. They can man in the middle all of your non-encrypted traffic. While this is bad, it’s not a scenario most people will run into.
If you tolerate the intolerant, it will eventually bite you. Free speech should be protected, but not tolerated.
I can’t afford all these streaming services. I’m basically back to one at a time, churning through them until I run out of things to watch.
That’s… fucking stupid. I didn’t realize their other products were such trash.
I must be in the minority here because I’ve never had major issues with ASUS products, though the caveat here is I have only used their motherboards. I’m using an x570-PLUS right now and it has been solid since purchase.
I’m right there with ya. I know many people prefer wireless earbuds, but I like ripping cables out of my ears at random. Makes me feel alive.
Basically this, except if you aren’t in the Apple ecosystem you can use alternative boxes/sticks to stream. I plugged my TV in initially and it was broadcasting an open wifi signal. I was like NOPE, removed the cable and shut it all down.
I built a new PC last year and bought a copy of Windows 11. Holy moly the login process required so much bullshit that I skipped through. It also every few days tries to get me to go through it again. After learning about all the Spyware and other bullshit I decided to just take the plunge back into using Linux as a main OS.
Someone is having a really bad day today. I wonder if your phone dies when you get a certain number of pages or push notifications
I used to work at DS and there was definitely overhiring done during the early pandemic when the stock price was going up. At least three people I know were let go in this round and they were in technical teams, which was surprising.
Yeah, well it works for me.
Ubuntu 22.04 server. It works well enough for my purposes and until it doesn’t I don’t see a reason to switch distros.
I got a Chevy Bolt 1LT (cheapest I could find with federal/state tax credits) and it’s the lowest maintenance car I’ve ever owned. No oil changes - literally just rotate your tires every 7500 miles. Less than $4 per charge to 90% (about 200-260 miles depending on how much I use the climate control). Parallel parking is super easy. Infotainment kind of sucks, but Android Auto makes it way better.
I don’t understand why they want to kill these cars other than they aren’t making enough money.
If the way things are going is no one owns anything they buy, then the incentive to buy things drops significantly.
