This is not a technology issue. Never reveal you real name, address and phone number on the internet.

Yup, which you don’t because that’s what the PC is for.
If you use a PC, there is no need to connect the TV to your WiFi, which means it won’t send any data.
Connect it to a Linux PC for optimal privacy.
Element seems to have voice and video chats in beta right now, and they plan to implement it into the Element application, so it looks like it is on the way at least.
Why not just use Matrix? I thought it was the goto FOSS and decentralized Discord alternative.
Being able to select multiple layers at the same time was a feature requested 11 years ago. Now it is finally here.
Ironically, manga is one of those mediums the users would like to pay for, to fill their bookshelves with, but 99% of manga never get officially translated or published outside of Japan, so they wouldn’t have been sold even if 100% of pirates wanted to buy copies.
Well, LBRY which odysee is a frontend for is decentralized, so you can host your own odysee-like instance and block content on there almost the same way as you can host one here and defederate. So it’s not that different from Lemmy. It is all decentralized after all.
That logic would make you a communist at Lemmy.
I sure haven’t seen any far right videos on there. My suggestions are always open source, linux, science, mental outlaw and Louis Rossman.
If there is far right content, it definitely is filtered away if you don’t watch similar content. I checked out the featured tab just now and didn’t find anything remotely political.
There are different cryptocurrencies with different purposes. A stablecoin wouldn’t be used as investment vehicle. And at the same time, anything that appreciates in value over time can be used as an investment vehicle. You switch to the coin that fits your purpose. You buy VPNs and privacy services with Monero, you buy stablecoin when you don’t want to invest in anything, you switch to Ethereum or bitcoin to buy groceries. But you don’t put it all in one place unless you think numbers will go up. That’s how you get both stability and investment.
I didn’t check out any of your posts. I was making a point about the “safe and stable” stockmarket vs the “volatile and dangerous” cryptomarket.
Cryptocurrency is just like the stockmarket, so there are safe, dangerous, and stupid options.
No one has argued that bitcoin is stable. It maybe will be in 10-20 years, but for stability today, you obviously go with a stablecoin like USDC or whatever stablecoin that is backed by your local currency and assets.
How are those Intel stocks going?
And that’s exactly what is happening to some chromium-based browsers.
These are maintained by corporations, but for every screw up, there are superior forks maintained by someone else.
The best forks of android are degoogled forks. The best forks of chromium are degoogled forks.
You can easily branch off from before manifest v3, and some browsers do. The problem with manifest v3 is that most users do not care. But let’s say chromium loses its ability to use tabs, you can bet it gets rolled back before it reaches news media.
It is open source so not really a corporation’s product.
They just maintain it, and the moment they screw up, a fork will take over from there.
So linux users are about to be blocked everywhere unless they install malware. I think I would rather just live with a dead internet.
I don’t know about buying domains, court or taxes. Those should be private and they probably are in my country.
But LinkedIn and dating sites are definitely a scam.
I am a huge privacy fanatic, so it is my goal that no one should ever be required to upload pictures of themselves on the internet or reveal their addresses or phone numbers. People have gotten way too complacent in handing over their private information, and that needs to change.
The fact that having privacy is unrealistic is truly bothersome.
