Ubuntu is a perfectly usable operating system, there is a LOT of elitism in the Linux community.
De gustibus non est disputandum
In matters of taste there is no dispute
Their point is that the level of outrage about this thing is blown out of proportion.
If the battery didnt last forever and didn’t charge in basically no time then people who use the mouse often would be complaining more instead of people who like to shit on apple stuff
Is the design not the best? Sure
Is it as bad as the world says? Nope.
Many of us have this mouse because it was sent to us with our Magic Keyboard and laptop from work.
You’re absolutely right that they could have put the charging port somewhere more functional but nearly everyone who complains about this mouse has never actually used one.
If money isn’t a problem then gitlab is your best choice.
It’s the most mature of the options you have available to you.
I use gitlab for airgapped networks
I’m of the opinion that Apple services ought to be geofenced out of Russia entirely.
Google too.
If they’re internal drives then you choose.
I like to mount drives at root, their parent directory being the logical purpose of the drive.
Got a drive you added that’s gonna be for games?
/games
Is it for movies?
/movies
Or maybe it’s just general data storage?
/data
No need to make it more complicated than it has to be.
This is standard across the industry, unless you are mounting disks that would conform to another strategy (say it’s a drive of repos, it might mounted under /usr/local/src/ as that’s where one would expect user provided source code).
If the license of the project isn’t being respected then this is a problem.

Do you have proof they’re sending it to OpenAI?
I believe I heard it’s done on device or on iCloud servers then deleted.
I mean, that’s the claim at least
It’s still got a lot of good science left, with a decade of orbit to figure out how to get back to it for maintenance we could keep it running.
That doesn’t improve things.
And by production car on the road I mean “by a car that is in production and allowed to drive on the road” though I admit it was vague and easy to take literally in that regard.
That’s not something that should happen to a car that is on the road.
The difference between an artist and an entertainer
It doesn’t break apt, apt just prefers snaps now.
This is as they designed it.
The issue here is that people don’t like this other thing and so the distribution which has been moving towards this other thing for like a decade now I guess is the bad guy for continuing to work towards that goal.
If we’re being honest every release without this status bar being the tail unfolding OR the tongue extending to catch a fly is a waste.
Thanks
Sure. You’re right. It could get worse at any time. Great talk.
To answer your question as to why I’d argue, I didn’t realize you were having an argument.
Microsoft is a services company anymore.
You pirating their desktop operating system as an end user is something they don’t care a lot about if we’re being honest.
Inevitable, idk. Maybe. Maybe not. I don’t trust them but they’ve acted in good faith so far as it pertains to GitHub.
If they enshittify they have competitors.
Luckily for us their are viable alternates out there already. If GitHub disappeared we’d have alternates.
Git itself is not owned by Microsoft.
