News flash: managers at every level also think of themselves as victims and they always pass that on down the chain of command. Upper management gets screamed at by senior management, then they scream at middle management, and then the people on the ground get screamed at. Shit rolls down hill. They aren’t always looking to get promoted all the way to the top, but every single one of them wants to be promoted higher than the rest of us so they can get a little more of the surplus value we generate.

If their job as middle management is so fucking hard how about they give it up? Accept a demotion and rejoin us on the floor. No one has to be middle management.

They’re fucking climbers. Every middle manager takes the job because they want to be upper management someday. Zero sympathy.

I’m pretty fucking sure you still have to apply to become a middle manager. You don’t just evolve like a Pokemon.

I heard Concord was originally designed to have an entirely different art style, but some top-down decision came to make it yet another hyper-realistic shooter. That’s why the character designs are so weird, they’d be more at home in their original retrofuture/art deco stylized world.

It’s worse. For example, this war has been the deadliest for journalists in modern history, and by proportion of people killed maybe even the deadliest ever. They don’t just target them in their homes, they target the families of journalists too. This is something new.

I must be out of my depth! Yuan is traded for dollars every day and there’s a current scheme where it’s traded/invested in the CFETS basket of 24 national currencies they do business with, so I can’t make heads-or-tails of what you’re talking about.

China doesn’t even let you take Yuan out of the country in most cases, even if someone wanted to take it in payment.

The US doesn’t want China replacing the US in other countries, though, because that still means less business for the US.

I don’t think this is going to play out the same way it did with the Soviets. The Sino-Soviet split happened specifically because China could see what the United States was doing and how it was going to win the Cold War, so they played the long game and made themselves an essential part of the global economy. I guess it all comes down to whether or not China is ready for this - and it looks like they are.
