it’s kind of a critique of the three laws of robotics. it’s main point is the effect that those laws would have on the people living alongside robots governed by them. the primary issue it points out with the 3 laws is basically that if people have an abundance or free labor that is strictly bound to do everything for them and protect them from all harm then they basically become slaves to their own servants (the books use that phrasing, probably because the characters narrating don’t see robotic labor as slavery). they’re not the best books I’ve ever read but I think they make a really good point about how ai/robots should be governed and about what the difference between one of those and a person even is (or rather if there is one at all, save for the three laws), and they are decent just not the best.

it probably does, but it isnt considered a ‘real’ distro since it isnt suitable for non-development use (nor is it meant to be). its a very common misconception about KDE neon to think that since it’s the KDE branded one it must be the best general-purpose KDE distro.

thats why they are making KDE Linux. KDE Linux is going to be what a lot of people mistakenly take neon to be while also fulfilling the role of ‘development standard implementation/example implementation for distros to reference’ much better.

KDE neon is really only a development platform, and it is barely maintained.

They are stealing data that can be (and is, often) used to track you across the entire internet. many social media platforms (again, especially tiktok) use this data to straight up manipulate people into spending more time on their platform and having views that align with the interests of the company. this is especially bad if the interests of the company are really the interests of an authoritarian government that is blatantly hostile to other countries unprovoked.

Not Chinese bad, Chinese government bad. because the Chinese government has so much control, Chinese companies can’t be trusted. yes, stolen data is bad. I know that data is being stolen anyway, but tiktok has historically been very bad about it. however, i was reffering to them moving from one shitty Chinese platform to another even more shitty and even more Chinese (as in controlled more by the Chinese government) one, when there are platforms that are from places that do not have an authoritarian government able to control any company if they so choose. of course something like instagram (reels) or youtube shorts isn’t much better in terms of data theft, but who has the data does matter no matter how hard you’re coping.

that’s fine bc nobody can run it anyway. just do your graphics like control and it’ll run fine even without upscaling.
