The whole From 104GB thing just tells me to stick with the original. Any game more than 20GB and it ain’t being installed on anything I own.

Either way, no surprise considering how big of a game this is, even if it is a remaster of a beloved classic so old that children have grown up only knowing every version of Skyrim released on everything from consoles to your mom’s smart vibrator.

Staying with the original also for the performance reasons: UE5 makes it really hungry for resources, while original runs smooth and makes my computer not even turn on active cooling.

Old game runs needs less powerful hardware than new game

Good lord, did you figure that out all by yourself‽ /s

Yeah well, a remake means they made the game again. It’s a new game, with the same content. That does mean it runs a new engine, and has modern-sized textures and models.

Perhaps they could optimise the game a bit more, I’ve always thought an installer that let’s you choose wether to install the downsized 1080p assets or the full-size 4k assets would’ve been nice to have but alas.

Yeah, having ability to make installation medium smaller by stripping away unused hi-res textures would be a really nice product feature.

I just a bit skeptical with having an old game requiring exponential increase hardware requirements with improvements limited just for some visuals. On the other hand, it could be WarCraft 3: Reforged situation, so, I guess now it is more of a “there is always space for improvement” situation.
